FAQ

The Value of Mediation in Your Business

In the business world, the employee is one “asset” you don’t want to (and can’t afford to) lose. A dispute of any kind between management and the employee or another employee can be harmful and if the business loses an employee from misunderstandings, personality conflicts, hurt feelings, or conflict within, it can be devastating.

Deanna works with businesses owners, managers, and HR managers to resolve workplace issues through mediation.

1

What services do you specialize in?

emPowered Workplace Dispute Resolution specializes in services that help people who are in conflict when their priority is a continuing relationship. Transformative mediation is designed to balance the power and control of any conflict and our services are especially helpful in businesses where there is conflict with management vs. employee(s) or employee vs. employee situations. These services are for conflicts involving two people or a group of thirty people as resolutions help raise morale and improve the overall workplace environment.

2

Who would benefit from your HR services?

Transformative mediation is an excellent service for businesses of whose goal is to retain staff and to build and maintain a positive, continuing relationship between team members. Transformative mediation resolves HR disputes, personality conflicts, situations based on hurt feelings, or just a general inability to get along. It is also great for custody disputes, family/estate disputes, and even parent-teen disputes.

3

What are the benefits of your services?

My services offer the opportunity for management and staff to come together in a voluntary and confidential manner and work with a neutral party to achieve a resolution that benefits all parties. The results can retain valuable employees in a job they may still want, prevent the business from the financial strain of recruitment or lost productivity, and mitigate stress in the workplace environment.

4

How do your services handle conflicts?

Disagreements are often created because of our inability to express our emotions which are based on our needs and desires. We balance the power and control between the parties by helping people find their voices, set reasonable boundaries, and give them a space where they feel they can speak and will be heard. Once the real issues are discovered, we brainstorm with the parties and develop a plan to move forward that works for everyone.

5

What does the process of working with you look like?

Easy and simple. We will visit your location to save downtime and costs for your business or you can visit our office in Scottsdale. We will discuss the background, current situation, and the parties’ goals and objectives and I bring the third-party neutrality needed to get the process going. No matter where we meet, early intervention is key for resolving workplace issues before they get out of hand.

What sets you apart from others offering HR dispute resolution?

Extensive business experience. I have vast experience in the business world so I understand the challenges of running a business, balancing costs and staff retention, and maintaining staff morale. I ran a business where I had 30 employees who worked closely together and I assisted my mother operating a grocery store with 20 to 30 employees at any given time. I also spent a couple of years teaching in the public school system so I have a deep understanding of human nature.
